MST’s study trip to Cuba January 2016

The annual study trip to Cuba introduces participants to vibrant and hope-inspiring church and community groups in Cuba-organizations that work for peace, justice, and social transformation. We meet with leaders, youth, community groups, churches, theological students, and more. Visits to Matanzas, Varadero, Havana, and small rural communities offer insight not just about the church in Cuba but provide opportunity for reflection on how we can engage in mission in our own communities in Canada. Our visit is hosted by a theological college in Matanzas, Cuba, with whom we have a longstanding partnership. Participants on the tour include M.Div. students in their final year of studies as well as interested lay people and clergy. For the past several years we have partnered with Health Partners International Canada to provide medical supplies to Cuban communities.
